Frequently Asked Questions

Why wasn’t my monologue approved?

Most likely the monologue is a duplicate of an existing one in the database. Please perform a search of the monologue you are attempting to add before submitting one.

How do I sell a monologue?

You must be a registered user to sell monologues. You must also agree to the terms of service which requires that you are the sole intellectual property owner of the monologue that you wish to sell.

How much can I sell a monologue for and how much revenue will I receive?

monologuedb requires a monologue to be a minimum price of $5 USD. There is no maximum price you can set, but be cognizant of overpricing your monologue to ensure maximum salability. You will receive 70% of the proceeds on a sale, 30% goes to monologuedb. In the case of a $5 monologue, you will net $3.50.

Why does monologuedb take 30% for every monologue sale?

monologuedb takes a share of the revenue from every monologue sale to pay for all merchant processing fees and for providing publishers a platform to sell monologues. Revenue will be used to enhance and support this infrastructure so that sellers can just focus on providing good monologue content for sale.

When do I get paid?

Unlike many services, you will be paid immediately once a buyer completes a transaction.

Do I have to sell my monologues?

Absolutely not. You can submit your custom monologues to the database for public consumption if you want to just gain exposure and notoriety for your monologue and screenplay.

How do I purchase a monologue and where do I access it?

You must be a registered user to purchase monologues. As a member, you will be able to access all monologues purchased from your administration panel. Also, when you first purchase a monologue you will receive an order confirmation that will give you a link to the monologue. All sales are final.

Why are monologues that I purchase non-refundable?

Because monologuedb cannot guarantee sellers that buyers would no longer be in possession of a refunded monologue, all purchases are final. This is to protect the seller from fraudulent buyer activity. Buyers would be able to purchase monologues, save a local copy and then request refunds. However, all monologues submitted to the marketplace for sale will be reviewed by monologuedb to ensure that sellers offer legitimate monologues.
